FIELD: oil and gas producing industry, particularly, equipment applicable in remedial work on oil and gas wells for latching around tubing and its suspending during round trip operations. SUBSTANCE: elevator has body with central recess to pass changeable grapples in from of turning segments. Rod with recess is hinged to changeable grapples. Body is made with handle and supporting post. Working face of supporting post is step-shaped. Installed in handle, whose axis coincides with central horizontal axis of elevator, is spring-loaded lock continuously pressed to supporting post with help of spring. Shackle is hinged to elevator body. Hinged to handle is leer whose one end is freely installed in recess of spring-loaded lock, and the other end is freely installed in handle hole. Lever is continuously pressed by spring. Handle lower part has holes for installation of rod and projection engageable with rod recess. Length of working face of supporting post over which spring-loaded lock moves from OPEN to CLOSED positions, is found within limits from D/5 to D/2, where D is diameter of internal circumference of elevator body. Each step of working face of supporting post is chamfered. Supporting post in points of its touching the lock in OPEN position has depression in form of vertical recess. Surfaces of working face of supporting post and lock working face are riffled.
