FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: this can be used for plugging of oil wells for period of their overhaul and maintenance operations. In realization of method, injected into well is plugging liquid containing water solution of polyethyleneoxide with concentration of 0.025-0.035%. Plugging liquid is injected into well at level which is above perforation holes. Then technological pause is undertaken so as to allow plugging liquid to settle down on well bottom hole. Remaining volume of well is filled with water solution of mineral salt at injection speed not over 1 m/s. Application of aforesaid well plugging method allows for retention of initial productive capacity of oil well. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 ex
