FIELD: mining and processing of minerals; may be used in concentration of gold and other native metals from placer deposits by washing method. SUBSTANCE: method includes settling at various velocities of particles in field of gravitational forces in ascending flow of liquid formed in vertical cylindrical reservoir with coaxial cylindrical partition and subsequent withdrawal of separated particles; giving rotary motion to pulp round vertical axis of reservoir with creation of overflow funnel; trapping of separated particles in additional ascending flow brought to reservoir bottom. The device for embodiment of the method has cylindrical body with flat bottom separated with coaxial cylindrical partition into chambers; appliance for withdrawal of heavy and light fractions; water jet nozzles supplying pressure water parallel to bottom. Removal of concentration tailings is effected over upper edge of circular chamber and appliance for withdrawal of heavy fractions made in chamber bottom.
