Indane derivatives are synthesized by interaction of derivatives of 6-halogen-indeno[2,1-c]quinoline with amine or alcohol in the presence or absence of a suitable solvent. Compounds can be used as antitumor agents in pharmaceutical compositions containing indane derivative and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
