FIELD: oil refining industry, more specifically preparation of coke useful for manufacture of constructional carbon materials. SUBSTANCE: distillate fractions in the process of coking heavy pyrolysis resin resulting from production of monoolefins are subjected to pyrolysis to obtain hydraulic resin. The resulting hydraulic resin is coked. The method makes it possible to decrease yield of gas and reduce coke formation during pyrolysis and to increase yield of isotropic coke for original feedstock. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 ex, 2 tbl
