FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly recovery of vanadium compounds from metallurgical slags. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises introducing calcium-containing additive at stage where slags are subjected to reducing firing at MnO to CaO to V2O5 weight ratio of (0.35-0.45):(0.05- 0.1):1 with MnO content of 3.8-6.9 wt % in slag and at weight ratio of (0.45-7.0): (0.65-1.3):1 with MnO content of 7.2-11.5 wt % in slag. EFFECT: more efficient recovery of vanadium from converter slags. 5 cl, 5 ex
