FIELD: electrolytic making of aluminum. SUBSTANCE: given process of aluminum making by electrolysis of melted salts includes feed of alumina, salts of fluorine and boron carrying addition into electrolyzer. Regeneration cryolite with content of boron up to 5-8 per cent by mass prepared by chemical interaction of boron-carrying compositions with fluorine-aluminate solution at stage of regeneration of cryolite is used as boron carrying addition. Borated regeneration cryolite in this case is fed into electrolyzer in proportion of 0.01-0.015:1 to mass of produced aluminum. EFFECT: reduced consumption of technological electric energy and clearing of crude aluminum from impurities of heavy metals. 1 tbl
