FIELD: electrolytic aluminum making in electrolyzers with self-baking anodes and upper current leads. SUBSTANCE: for stabilization of technological mode of operation of electrolyzer specified interval of values of height for layers of cathode aluminum and electrolyte melt , of molecular relationship NaF/AlNaF/AlF3, of content of calcium fluoride in electrolyte and average voltage of electrolyzer is set by empirical expressions. With decrease of depth of electrolyzer shaft in process of its running to more than 0.026 of its depth specified interval of values for distance from lower edge of gas-collecting bell of electrolyzer to anode bottom and to surface of electrolyte is additionally set before start of electrolyzer and these parameters are maintained within specified interval of values.
