FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to repair of hermetic vessels and can be used in repair of large diameter pipelines, reservoirs, receptacles, hulls of ships, etc. preferably with large thickness of wall. According to method, patch is secured to surface being repaired and space between patch and surface being repaired is filled with self-hardening material. Fastened to patch and to surface being repaired in oncoming direction are thrust pins. Sealing member is positioned over perimeter of patch in space between patch and surface being repaired. Patch is fastened by threaded joints. In addition, located in space between patch and surface being repaired is reinforcing net, and self-hardening material after filling space between patch and surface being repaired is compacted. Method allows in function of patch to use multiple-sheet sets. Such sets can incorporate strips of different metals incompatible in welding with metal of surface being repaired. These sets can also include strips of composite or organic materials. Application of aforesaid method of repair of reservoirs results in high-quality repaired surface which is resistant to corrosion, pressure pulses and temperature fluctuations. Patching can be performed not only externally but internally as well. This is of particular importance for example in repair of ship hulls, reservoirs, technological vessels of various purpose.
