SHOT THROWING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: shot-throwing treatment of products, possibly finishing and strengthening surfaces of articles. SUBSTANCE: shot throwing apparatus includes working chamber 1 with hopper 2. Impeller 4 is mounted with possibility of rotation by means of drive 3 in chamber 1. Impeller 4 includes unit for returning shots in the form of hollow cylinder 5 with inner thread 6 passing in its lower portion to helix 7 extending inner threaded surface of cylinder. Over helix 7 on outer surface of cylinder there is thread 8 whose direction is opposite relative to that of inner thread 6 of cylinder. Hopper 2 is provided with reservoir having cylindrical portion 9 embracing cylinder portion with outer thread 8 by means of cone 10 narrowing downwards and embracing helix 7. Cavities of cylinder and impeller are mutually connected by means of cone shell. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of returning shots from hopper to working cavities of rotor. 1 dwg
