FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, ladle treatment of steel in casting ladle. SUBSTANCE: method includes introduction of aluminum into ladle with molten metal, blowing of melt with oxygen through lance immersed in melt and subsequent metal blowing in ladle with inert gas. Consumption of introduced aluminum is determined with consideration of content of carbon in melt. Consumption of oxygen for chemical heating of melt is determined by the relationship given in the invention description. Specific volumetric consumption of oxygen per kg of introduced aluminum is maintained within 0.5-0.75 cu. m/kg. Oxygen blowing is carried out with intensity of 0.10-0.4 cu.m/min.t with depending of lance blowing nozzle exit section in metal melt through 0.10-0.60 height of metal level. Averaging of temperature and chemical composition is attained by blowing with argon with intensity of 0.0025-0.0040 cu. m/min. t for not more than 6 min. EFFECT: higher efficiency of heating with improved quality of metal and reduced consumption of material for heating. 2 cl, 2 tbl
