FIELD: immunoneurology. SUBSTANCE: method consists in taking venous blood from patient 24 hr before and after peroral administration of 1 g reserpine. For investigations, 0.1-0.2 ml of patient's blood serum diluted with multiplicity 2 is combined with 0.1-0.2 ml of cheep erythrocyte suspension containing serotonin. Mixture is allowed to stand at 37-37.5 C for 50-60 min and at room temperature for 22-24 hr. In absence of reliable increase in antiserotonin antibodies' titer, multiple sclerosis is diagnosed. EFFECT: simplified procedure, avoided need in costly equipment and reactives, increased safety for patient, and improved accuracy and specificity. 4 tbl, 4 ex
