FIELD: railway road transport, possibly repairing and manufacture of overspring beam of trucks of cargo cars. SUBSTANCE: method comprises step of hot mounting into turned thrust bearing site overspring beam of changeable insert made from wear resistant steel with normalized hardness. Thickness of insert is equal to difference between nominal size of thrust bearing site and its size after working with interference allowance. Thrust bearing is heated until 250-300 C before mounting insert. Wear resistant insert is upset until its close contact with flat supporting surface. When thrust bearing is cooled wear resistant insert is jammed between beads of thrust bearing site with desired interference. Thickness of insert consists 0.2-0.3 of thickness of joined walls of thrust bearing after working.
