FIELD: railway transport; making and repairing of freight car bogies overspring beams.

SUBSTANCE: proposed insert is made in form of plate with support surface with central hole around which inner ring bead of diameter exceeding diameter of hole in overspring beam for pivot and outer ring bead mating at base with support surface are made. Outer ring bead is made with taper relative to support surface exceeding taper of thrust surface of outer bead of step bearing by value not exceeding interference tolerance required for holding insert in step bearing in process of operation and with height smaller than height of outer bead. Mating of outer ring bead support plane is made with radius exceeding radius of mating of surfaces of step bearing in contact with ring bead by not less than value of interference tolerance. Inner bead of plate is made rounded off to provide undercutting under insert over support surface of step bearing.

EFFECT: improved serviceability and reparability.
