FIELD: nuclear power engineering; fuel assemblies of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: spacer grid is built up of cells abutting with faces of their polyhedrons against each other and having internal projections of different height provided on their three non-adjacent faces so that some of them (working ones) are in center of these faces and other projections (safety pieces), on their edges; there are also notches along working projections, either side of them; cells are made in the form of octahedrons or nonahedrons with outline closed over perimeter. Cells are mounted so that their faces with projections and notches never come in contact with each other; notches are made on faces with projections. Cells may be provided with safety projections and notches on one of their faces only. Safety projections are made so that their height equals that of working projections provided on two other faces; working projection made on same face as safety projections is higher than remaining projections. EFFECT: improved reliability of spacer grid, facilitated manufacture due to improving crosswise stiffness and flexibility of cells. 2 cl, 11 dwg
