FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed spacer grid used as one of nuclear-reactor fuel assembly components is assembled of set of parallel plates. These plates intersect to form subchannels; they are fixed at points of intersection by nonsplit joint at least on butt-ends. Spacer grid has spring members in the form of sections of tubular shells with shaped surfaces and have supporting sections. Spring members are installed and secured directly in subchannels designed to receive fuel elements. Supporting sections of each spring member are divided into first supporting sections protruding toward spring member axis for securing fuel elements within subchannels and second supporting sections protruding toward subchannel walls. At least one of second supporting sections abuts against respective wall of subsection.
EFFECT: enhanced stiffness of spacer grid, its versatility, and reliability of fuel element fixation, facilitated manufacture.
