FIELD: freezing and storage of blood cells. SUBSTANCE: package is made of two sheets of material joined together by welds which limit protective zone. Hollow runs from protective zone, and weld limiting this hollow contains input assembly. Access tube is secured to input assembly. It is located inside limits of pocket formed by sheet sections protruding beyond protective zone boundaries. Package is positioned in frame, and its content is frozen by immersion in liquid nitrogen. Package tube is preliminarily coupled to source of centrifuged red blood cells having reduced light layer of blood clot. Red blood cells are displaced into package which is coupled to source of hydroxyethylated starch. Then air is removed from package, content of package is shaken to mix blood cells with hydroxyethylated starch. EFFECT: enhanced quality of frozen blood. 11 cl, 7 dwg
