FIELD: control of presence and/or quantity of cellular microorganism such as bacterial cells in large volume of air, such as storehouse or production room, or in open air where presence of bacteria is suspected. SUBSTANCE: method allows determination of probability of presence of pathogenic material in ambient atmosphere by measuring number of cells by lots or in real scale of time by method of luminescence. The latter method allows continuous control of ambient medium for presence of pathogens. Device has lumenmeter of continuous flow, preferably with supply from cyclone or high velocity virtual impactor, and also reagents of lysis and luminescence which detect quantity of АТФ or adenylate kinase present in air sample.
