FIELD: shipbuilding; shipboard propulsive complexes for ships running in ice. SUBSTANCE: screw-rudder has streamlined strut and nacelle with drive and aft shrouded propeller and ice-breaking members made in form of vanes and blades arranged in fore section of nacelle; fore shrouded propeller is additionally mounted on propeller shaft between ice-breaking members and nacelle. Ice-breaking members are located at distance of 0.02 to 0.25 of diameter of fore propeller at point of their maximum diameter. Brackets used for securing the shrouds to nacelle are made in form of flow control wings. Blades or vanes of ice-breaking members may be smoothly located over circumference in plane transversal relative to propeller shaft. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of protection of propellers against action of ice; enhanced operational efficiency of engine under severe ice conditions. 2 cl, 1 dwg
