FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, namely to creation of propulsive-steering systems providing vessel movement and manoeuvring in icy conditions. Ship screw-steering column for vessel movement and manoeuvring in icy conditions contains streamlined strut, nacelle accommodating elements of driving mechanism and propeller shaft which extends in cantilever fashion out of opposite ends of nacelle and on which fore and aft screw propellers are fixed at fore and aft ends respectively. Propeller shaft is made of two parts with possibility to provide independent rotation of corresponding screw propeller. Streamlined strut and nacelle are equipped with elements of the second driving mechanism which is designed to provide opposite rotation for one of screw propellers relative to the other. Driving mechanisms of screw-steering column screw propellers are made capable to provide rotation frequency for one of screw propellers differing from rotation frequency of the second screw propeller. Fore screw propeller diameter is 0.5-0.95 of aft screw propeller diameter.
EFFECT: higher technical and economic effectiveness of screw-steering column operation during vessel movement and manoeuvring in severe icy conditions.
