SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary treatment of fibers with alkali solution of amphoteric surfactant and application of dye from dyeing solution which practically does not contain equalling agent of surfactant type and contains one or more agents protecting against insect pests. The surfactant includes alkoxylated hydroxysulfobetaine of formula 1 given in the invention description, where R₁-C₁₂-H₂₅-C₂₁H₄₃, R₂, R₃ are polyalkylene oxide groups where each contains n alkylene oxide units, where 3 = n = 21.
