SUBSTANCE: device has housing, cylinder, which is mounted in housing for rotation and is equipped with longitudinal groove, key pass and flange which is equipped with key hole, rings, which are located about cylinder and are equipped with radial cuts. Key is designed as plate with projections. Rings, which are mounted on cylinder, are either mobile or stationary. Bottom of longitudinal groove is arc- shaped and is equipped with arc-shaped rests for their jamming between bottom of longitudinal groove of cylinder and housing. Concavity of arc which shapes bottom of longitudinal groove of cylinder is directed inside cylinder. Center of this arc mismatches with center of corresponding mobile ring. Radius of this arc is greater than radius of corresponding mobile ring. Claims of invention disclose also method for coding combinations of cylindrical mechanism of lock.
