FIELD: gastroenterology. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for clinical investigations of biological materials. Method of invention includes crystallographic investigations of saliva with sodium chloride and analysis of results in accordance with NaCl crystallization system and values of morphological types of liquid-crystal structures. Additionally, exudate is crystallographically investigated. From single-type bifurcation of figure with NaCl in saliva and exudate and from presence of spherulites larger than 1.0 mcm in diameter, inflammatory process accompanied by adequate adaptive-protective body reaction is diagnosed. In the case of different saliva and exudate crystallization pictures and absence of spherulites in exudate, inflammatory process accompanied by insufficiency of nonspecific adaptation mechanisms is diagnosed. In the case of different figure bifurcation with NaCl in saliva and exudate and presence of spherulites larger than 1.0 mcm in diameter, absence of gastroduodenal pathology is stated. When morphological types of liquid-crystal saliva structures are obtained in the form of needles and rods, gastroduodenite is diagnosed, and when these morphological types are obtained in the form of dense grid of interlaced lines, ulcer disease is diagnosed. EFFECT: eliminated probing of gastrointestinal tract and increased diagnostic accuracy. 2 cl, 14 dwg, 3 ex
