METHOD OF PROGNOSIS OF RESULTS OF ENDOPROSTHETICS OF HIP JOINT Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, in particular, orthopedics; may be used in estimation of efficiency of endoprosthetics of hip joint. SUBSTANCE: method includes examination of patient's blood before operation of endoprosthetics and in 1 and 3 months after it, and determination of the following immunological parameters: immunoglobulin E, immunoglobulin A, presence of antibodies to salts of metals or polymers included in composition of endoprosthesis; content of eosinophils with the help of standard unified techniques. Presence of changes in immunological characters, or even of two of them from preoperative normal values prognosticates unfavorable results of endoprosthetics of hip joint, and individual treatment is prescribed to enhance patient's immunity and to eliminate possible complications in postoperative period. EFFECT: provision of prognosis the results of endoprosthetics in early postoperative terms.
