SUBSTANCE: machine has first winding roller relative to which band material moves, second winding roller forming a grip together with first winding roller, device directing band material into grip and device for fitting-in sleeve onto which material is to be wound. Rolling surface is located before above-indicated grip relative to direction of forward movement of band material. This surface forms, together with band material feeder, a channel into which sleeve is driven. Band material breaker engages with band material feeder in intermediate position along above indicated channel between point of driving in of new sleeve and above indicated grip. Rolling surface is formed, at least partially, by deflecting or flexible deformable support which provides enlargement of range of made articles using sleeves of different diameters.
