FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: invention describes method of purification of glycol solution resulting from treatment of petroleum or gas effluents based on one or more glycols selected from among monoethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol propylene glycol, and water. Said solution contains as impurities dissolved salts dissociated into anions and cations, and carbohydrates in dissolved or emulsified state in amount of less than 20 wt % of solution. Method comprises treating glycol solution for removing dissolved salt, so-called desalting, and uses selective separation of anions and cations of said salts. First of all, some amount of water that separates mixture to be obtained into hydrocarbon phase composed substantially from hydrocarbons in glycol solution to be purified, and glycol phase formed from other constituents of glycol solution and added water, is added to glycol solution to be purified. Glycol phase is separated from hydrocarbon phase and said glycol phase is subjected to desalting to obtain purified glycol solution containing small amount of hydrocarbons and controllable content of salts, said amount of water being such that quotient α resulting from division of water to hydrocarbon volume ratio in glycol solution on addition of water required to effect phase separation by water to hydrocarbon volume ratio in glycol solution to be purified, prior to addition of water to effect phase separation, varies from 1 to 10. EFFECT: simpler and more efficient method. 15 cl, 2 dwg, 4 ex, 3 tbl
