RAILWAY SWITCH Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: railway track construction. SUBSTANCE: railway switch has base, rail with movable end portion which is placed on base and is secured to it. Incorporated in switch are ends of adjacent stationary rails, and also means for improving stability of relative positioning of ends of rails at taking basic functional loads. Also provided is stiffening rib which is rigidly fastened with base and it has opening for location of sleeper. Recess is made in rail for receiving additional rigidity rib intended for taking longitudinal rail load. Aforesaid embodiment of railway switch makes its operation more independent from fouling of railway track and ensures better stability in relative positioning of rail ends when they are subjected to external and internal loads.
