FIELD: high- temperature energy converters built around fuel cells. SUBSTANCE: battery has solid-oxide fuel cells each built up of thin-layer electrolyte and two electrode layers on either side of electrolyte. Each electrode layer of every cell is bulged over periphery to form pair of through slots shifted from similar pair of through slots in bulge of second electrode layer of same fuel cell. When piling them, alternating chambers are formed between identical electrode coatings of adjacent cells due to bulges; these chambers communicate by means of set of through slots with gas-feed and gas-vent ducts (manifolds) abutting on outside against banks of through slots. Bulge may be made of separate electricity conducting layers abutting against each other; in this case, one of layers may function as current collector with wire leads connected to it. Fuel elements may be made of different geometry. EFFECT: reduced cost of battery; improved current collection, facilitated manufacture, improved electric characteristics. 6 cl, 3 dwg
