FIELD: electric communications over power transmission lines; ice detection and indication systems. SUBSTANCE: system has transmission control unit in the form of high-frequency oscillator connected through junction filter and coupling capacitor to power transmission line and loaded into metering units, as well as reception control unit incorporating alarm connected through junction filter and coupling capacitor to power transmission line 4; it is tuned to maximum oscillator-frequency signal and responds to changes in amplitude of signal modulated in metering unit 6. Signal is shaped in response to maximal ice load and transmitted to deicing system; in the action, modulating signal is shaped in metering unit connected to power transmission line due to changes in parameters of metering unit through tuning control upon operation of parametric transducer which serves to determine maximal ice load on particular power transmission line. EFFECT: improved confidence of maximal ice load detection, simplified signal shaping, transmitting, and receiving system, reduced cost of entire system. 1 dwg
