FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method for detecting glase-ice accretions on wires and lightning protection cables of electric power lines involves generation and reception of sounding pulses via high-frequency connection of electric power line, matched filtering of received pulses, in which in addition at least by means of one sensor there measured is ambient temperature of electric power line, and sounding pulses are subject to time-frequency modulation. At that, matched filtering of received pulses is performed with several filters the frequency characteristics of which consider damping of the appropriate sounding pulses at various frequencies considering ambient temperature of electric power line and thickness of glase-ice wall, decision on available glase-ice accretions and thickness of glase-ice wall is taken when the specified value of maximum filtering result is exceeded.

EFFECT: improving quick operation and simplifying the method for detecting glase-ice accretions on wires and lightning protection cables of electric power lines, which are expressed in transfer to single-stage procedure of method implementation.
