FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: wet and dry spinning production wastes are treated by alkaline cooking in solution containing sodium sulfite or bisulfite (reducing agent), household soap, terpentine (dispersant), and alkali. Thus treated material is then impregnated with acidic solution containing hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid, and sulfuric acid. After that, whitening, alkaline washing, and acidification operations are carried out using intermediate washings with hot and cold water and final washing. EFFECT: extended application area due to imparting new properties on flax fiber, and extended assortment of materials from hard-to-process flax waste because of preserving standard characteristics. 3 cl, 2 tbl
