FIELD: methods of mining of mineral reserves occurring in beach zone adjoining the coastline; applicable in mining of placer deposits of shelf. SUBSTANCE: method consists in that placer deposit is developed by opencasting with mining equipment located on land. Placer deposit development is carried out by excavation of narrow trenches with their longitudinal axes located along coastline. These trenches are connected with water area by additionally excavated trenches oriented along the movement of surf waves. Length of additional trenches extends from coastline to main trench most distant from coastline. In the course of formation of main trenches, barriers are left within their design contour on sections of junction with additional trenches. The barriers are extracted in excavating of additional trenches. Distance from coastline to the most distant main trench does not exceed the maximum distance of run up of wave surf during storm gales. EFFECT: possibility of self-repair of biocenosis of beach zone with reduced technogenic effect on water medium during development of placer deposits. 4 cl, 1 dwg
