FIELD: methods of mining of mineral reserves of nonburied underwater placer deposits; applicable in mining of placer deposits of shelf. SUBSTANCE: method consists in development of placer deposit by narrow trenches located with their longitudinal axes along direction of movement of surf waves. Trench walls are lined with shields and trench is connected with water area by water supply ditch whose depth is less than that of trench.
