FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method consists in magnetic separation of starting material to give magnetic and nonmagnetic fractions, the latter being additionally subjected to electric plasma treatment in discharge chamber with simultaneous flow washing with liquid glass solution, weight ratio of liquid glass to nonmagnetic fraction being at least 0.003:1. Resultant quartz contains 8,25•10-4 % of impurities. EFFECT: increased purity of product. 4 tbl
