FIELD: powder metallurgy, more particularly manufacture of economically alloy steels. SUBSTANCE: method comprises mechanical alloying by mixing and grinding iron, carbon, ferrophosphorus powders in high-energy mill or attritor to size of 4-10 mcm, pressing and sintering at 1000-1250 C, ratio of components is as follows, wt %: phosphorus, 0.65-1.1; carbon 0.1-1.2, and iron, the balance. Method makes it possible to manufacture steels having high physico-mechanical characteristics with certain particle size and predetermined substructure parameters.
