FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: titanium and nickel powders are mixed, placed into pot, and heated in vacuum furnace to temperatures 20-40 C superior to melting point of titanium-nickel intermetallide, kept at that temperature for up to 3 h, and subjected to oriented crystallization. EFFECT: avoided preliminary compaction into dense compositionally and structurally homogeneous ingots.
