FIELD: metallurgy of non-ferrous metals.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals and may be used to obtain alloys characterised for slow dilution of an alloying constituent, such as chromium. The method of use is achieved by introducing metal chromium as a powder with the 0.25-0.50 mm dispersity into a molten aluminium at the temperature staying within an area between the liquidus and solidus lines, which provides for its bonding in a liquid melt into intermetallic compounds. The melting temperature is then raised above the liquidus line to such a degree that depends on the amount of introduced chromium. Thereafter the molten mass is poured into a form that has been intensely cooled down or into a body of water. The chromium-alloyed liquid obtained is significantly prevented from carbon monoxide fumes as a result of any burn-off losses.
EFFECT: procurement of the chromium-alloyed molten mass that is significantly prevented from any burn-off losses.
