FIELD: urban and industrial water supply systems. SUBSTANCE: portion of flow is bled by means of line of total pressure Po from specified area of its cross-section to area of longitudinal section for periodic measurement of velocity Vx of flow that is set by line of static pressure Po. Two ultrasonic converters operating in modes of radiation and reception of acoustic signals are placed along flow going over measurement tube connecting Po and Px lines. Probing pulse sent simultaneously by both ultrasonic converters is re- radiated with the use of electronic unit. Train of information pulses which summary duration is used to form information time interval is formed. Information time interval is filled with train of standard pulses. Flow velocity Vx and correspondingly momentary flow rate are determined by number of standard pulses during time of one measurement cycle.
