FIELD: railway transport; horizontal rail tank cars. SUBSTANCE: tank car has body in form of horizontal container installed through frame on running gear and consisting of elliptic bottom plates and cylindrical shell assembled of three drums. End drums are connected to bottom plates and are freely fitted on frame, and middle drum is rigidly secured by shaped feet on frame and is provided with hatch and draining device. Shell has upper sheets and lower armored sheets and is made so that ratio of thickness of upper sheets to thickness of lower armored sheets is 1:1.2. Longitudinal weld between upper and lower armored sheets of end drums is made at angle not less than 95 degrees from body lower generating line, and each circumferential weld between middle and end drums is made at a distance not less than 0.23-0.24 of total length of shell. Weld between lower and armored sheets and other sheets of middle drum is made at angle not less than 40 degrees from lower generating line of body. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 cl, 4 dwg
