METHOD OF REPAIR OF DEFECTS IN PIPE LINE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: repair of pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: hold-down members are placed on outer surface of pipe line; ends of these members are placed in dents or on bulges of pipe wall. Ends in dents are welded to pipe line. Defective sections of pipe line are heated to preset temperature and hold-down members act on these sections restoring the shape of pipe line. After cooling the wall, welds are cut off releasing the end-pieces. Defects in pipe line walls are eliminated by means of detachable sleeves. Invention contains examples of elimination of faults.
