FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to weapons and military equipment, particularly, to armored structures, which can be used in individual and transport facilities for protection against small arms bullets and high-energy fragments on battlefield, as well as in nuclear and other industries for use as passive protection of articles. Armour protection comprises substrate made from metal mesh, and front layer made from solid ceramic material, metal mesh is made of wire with tensile strength of σin= 0.5-0.8 GPa and hardness less than bullet core hardness, wherein thickness of metal mesh is from 1 up to 2.5 of facial ceramic layer thickness.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is reduced thickness while maintaining surface density of light armoured protection with increase of its protective properties, reduced value of back deflection for elimination of impact at protected element of device.
