FIELD: machine building, applicable for packing the piston-cylinder pair of internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: the device comprises a piston, whose groove accommodates two flat split compression rings: the upper and lower ones, whose locks are arranged diametrically opposite to each other. A split round catch with radial elasticity acting on both rings simultaneously is installed in the piston groove, behind the rings. In the diametric plane the catch has upper and lower lugs obtained by means of through notching simultaneously in axial and circumferential directions of the upper and lower edges of the catch strip and subsequent flanging of them in radius to the cylinder. The upper and lower lugs enter the slots of the straight catches of the upper and lower rings respectively. It prevents displacement of the compression rings relative to each other in the piston groove circumferentially and radial plane.
