FIELD: use of electromagnetic modes in combination with vacuum for heating and drying dielectric materials, in particular, wood, applicable in wood-working food, chemical industries, in agricultural production, medicine, etc. SUBSTANCE: drier uses a drying chamber, microwave oscillator, device for input of microwave energy, vacuum pump, steam condensation system consisting of heat-exchange panels and a condenser. The electromagnetic modes oscillator is a microwave oscillator, and the device for input of microwave energy into the drying chamber is made as a panel of rectangular waveguides of one, or ar least two different sections with two rows of longitudinal slots on one of the wider walls of each waveguide. Each row of slots on the wall of each waveguide is made with period p < λв and shifted along the waveguide relative to one another by space d < λв/2, where λв - wave-length in waveguide, and the whole panel is located vertically in the middle of the chamber on its effective length. The slot length may increase from the waveguide inlet length to the outlet one. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 5 dwg
