FIELD: devices for armor protection, applicable for protection of rooms, storehouses safes, collecting vehicles against the action of small arms bullets.
SUBSTANCE: the armor protection device has a face ceramic layer, backing of composite material adjoining it and enclosed in a shell. The ceramic layer and the backing are made closed. The shell repeats the shape of the ceramic layer. An additional layer of elastic material is introduced onto the backing surface opposite the surface adjoining the ceramic layer, between the shell and the ceramic layer.
EFFECT: enhanced resistance to the bullet action due to the reduced edge effects; enhanced reliability of armor protection due to the reduced mass and overall dimensions of the device.
