FIELD: underwater acoustics. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to develop local, regional and global acoustic systems of long-term monitoring of such parameters of sea environment as average temperature of water, its changeability, projections of flow velocity on path, presence of hydrophysical inhomogeneities, ice, movement of fish shoals, passage of vessels along path of sound propagation. Acoustic receiving-transmitting path circuit is formed in sea environment. Signal received by element of path circuit is sent to emitting side of path and is nonlinearly amplified to emergence of autogeneration in path circuit on one of frequencies determined by hydrophysical conditions over path of sound propagation. Then frequency of autogeneration in path circuit is measured and its value is used to evaluate changes of parameters of sea environment. Autogeneration condition in path circuit can be conducted in forward and backward directions to determine velocity of flow. Required family of beams can be selected in path circuit and used to excite autogeneration condition in them. Spectra of changeability of autogeneration frequency are analyzed with processing of acoustic signal received by element of path circuit and are employed to estimate nature of changeability of hydrophysical parameters of sea environment.
