COMPUTER-AIDED CHARGING SYSTEM FOR STORAGE BATTERIES Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2134477 C1

FIELD: electrical and electronic engineering. SUBSTANCE: system has power supplies and charging cell. It is built up of M modules interconnected through common address and data bus with main computer provided with special control program charge; each module has module controller, analog-to-digital converter, and N switching-distributing units interconnected through common local address and data bus and connected to local power supply through local power bus; switching-distributing unit has L charge-discharge channels incorporating charge current control device, discharge control device, warning indicator color control device, and switching device for channel connection to power supply, analog-to-digital converter, as well as two charging cells and respective color warning indicators; number of modules (M) and that of switching-distributing devices (N) depends on desired total number of charging cells. System provides for automatic monitoring of storage batteries for condition in the course of their charging and cycling and automatic control of these processes using data on battery condition, and organization of automatic concurrent personnel time-keeping control thereby ensuring full charge of batteries at the same time eliminating their overcharging and location of troubles in due time. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities of system, increased service life of batteries, and improved labor protection. 1 dwg
