FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for operating the nickel-hydrogen accumulator batteries (AB) in the stand-alone electric power systems (EPS) of aircraft (AC) operating in the low-Earth orbit. Improving the reliability and survivability of the module type EPS without impairing the technical characteristics of the AC is the technical result of the invention. In the AB operation, the parameters control of each AB is carried out, such as current electric capacity, voltage, temperature, it is carried out periodically once every 6-9 months of the charge prohibition for one of the AB (ABi) for performing the molding cycle (MC), when used as the discharge load for the molded AB of the on-board aircraft equipment, the same sequence of the operations is repeated for the subsequent ABj, herewith the EPS configuration changes are made, if necessary, under the single switchgear commands, for which a base module is made of the two subsystems switched parallel between each other, at least, two modules are used in the normal EPS operation, and to change the EPS configuration, an emergency bus is used independently for each module, which has no electrical connection with the emergency buses of other modules.
EFFECT: reconfiguration of the electric power systems is carried out on the shadow and light areas of the aircraft orbit depending on the method for orienting the photovoltaic battery panels, the numbers of the aircraft orbit turns, on which the emergency bus switching is carried out, are selected based on the conditions of ensuring the formed AB discharge depth of more than 95 percent of the nominal value.
