MOTOR ROAD AND METHOD OF ITS OPERATION TOGETHER WITH REPAIR AND RECONSTRUCTION Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: road-building industry. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in construction and operation of motor roads. According to invention, pavement of motor road is made of following components; hot and dense asphalt-concrete mix containing crushed-stone of gabbroid-diabasic type or limestone type or granite type with fraction size of 12-18 mm and 5-12 mm, mix of natural sand with oversize of gabbroid-diabasic or limestone or granite crushed-stone with fraction size of 4.0-8.0 mm and fraction size of up to 4.0 mm, limestone mineral powder, polymeric-bituminous binding material and cationic-active additive of amine-type with proportioning ratio of components as given in description of invention in mass%. In aforesaid method of operation of motor road with its repair and/or reconstruction, all kinds of repair such as: routine and/or medium and/or overhaul, and/or in process of reconstruction and/or restoration of motor road, at least upper courses or one upper course of pavement is made of hot, dense asphalt-concrete mix of aforesaid composition. Application of aforesaid method and materials allows for optimization of design and functional potentialities of motor road and also of its operation, repair and reconstruction. It also allows for reducing labour and materials cost as well as operating expenses. It ensures optimal selection of asphalt-concrete components, also modes of performing separate operations and method of operation together with repair and reconstruction, added with increasing traffic capacity with simultaneous improvement of ecological situation and prolonging safety functioning of motor road with longer periods between repairs.
