ADJUSTABLE WHIPSTOCK Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: bore-hole drilling equipment. SUBSTANCE: relates to drilling horizontal and inclined bore-holes with using whipstock of adjustable angling. Whipstock has upper hydraulic cylinder and deviating unit. Upper hydraulic cylinder is additionally provided with orienting unit which by its rib comes into engagement with well instrument which records turning angle of deviating unit and transmits its value to ground surface control unit. Orienting unit is connected through hinge with stem which passes through internal space of piston-rod assembly of hydraulic cylinder and body of deviating unit, and by its lower part it is connected by means of key with deviating unit. Aforesaid embodiment of whipstock gives higher reliability of operation. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
