FIELD: medicine, hematology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of preparing an antishock plasma-substituting solution. Method involves the conversion of modified starch obtained by acid hydrolysis to partial hydrolyzate, its neutralization and treatment with apyrogenic coal. After coal removal the solution of partially hydrolyzed hydroxyethylstarch is fractionated for purification from and organic and inorganic impurities and fractionated on the hollow-fiber type membrane unit at regime of diafiltration and concentrating. Then the concentrate of hydroxyethylstarch is sterilized in the presence of apyrogenic coal for at least two stages. After coal filtering off the concentrate is fed to the pouring stage. After autoclaving stage the ready product corresponds to the requirement of FS 42-2998-93. Obtained plasma substance has the modified starch that is not accumulated in tissues at large amounts, it does not cause adverse effects for its long using, it shows suitable residence in body, good solubility in water, its viscosity does not exceed that of plasma, it shows the absence of toxicity and pyrogenic-free property. EFFECT: improved method of preparing. 6 cl, 1 ex
